TopX Student Scholarship
The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Agribusiness or Bachelor of Agribusiness/Bachelor of Applied Science (Animal Science/Animal Production) program at the University of Queensland, Gatton.
The TopX Scholarship
The Scholar will receive:
- a scholarship to the value of AUD$3,000.
- an opportunity to undertake work experience with TopX
Eligibility
The TopX Scholar will:
- be a full time student enrolled in either the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Agribusiness degree program or the 4th year of the B Agribusiness/B Applied Science (Animal Science/Animal Production) program,
- be willing to accept work experience with TopX during their final year.
Selection Criteria and Interview
The TopX Scholar will be selected on the following criteria:
- academic performance, with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher;
- strong interpersonal skills and presentation ability as demonstrated during the seminar referred to under the Applications section of this Attachment 2; and
- a demonstrated interest in the improvement of the beef industry.
The TopX Scholar will be subject to an interview before the Selection Panel, whose decision on the successful scholar will be final.
Selection Panel
- Two representatives of TopX Pastoral Pty Ltd; and
- Two representatives of the Agribusiness Group (School of Natural Rural Systems Management)
Applications
Applications for the TopX Scholarship should be lodged with the Agribusiness Program Co-ordinator. Applicants will be required to submit a resume along with a 3000 word discussion paper on a current beef industry issue. A short-list of applicants for the scholarship will be required to present a short seminar based on their discussion paper and be interviewed by the Selection Panel.
Applications for the TopX Scholarship will be subject at all times to UQ policies and procedures.
